I LOVE shoes and this is my EXPERT opinion – Shoes make the outfit.  If you put on an athletic shoe with a skirt or dress,  it REALLY doesn’t matter how much the skirt or dress costs the look is crappy – PERIOD. 

PUT on a pair of fabulous shoes  (like these Prada’s) with a $5 dress and you will still look FABULOUS!

When Amy (Adams from the movie Leap Year) appeared on the David Letterman Show, she wore Christian Louboutins.  Most of the conversation centered on her pregnancy.  Dave was being nice – wonder if it was because she is pregnant.  Any way Amy wore black covered platform peep toe Christian Louboutins – NICE!

Even though Giuseppe Zanotti was award Shoe Designer of the year, I think that 2009 was a year for the Christian Louboutin Shoe.  Now this may be my fault – I may be focusing too much attention on Christian Louboutin shoes, but I don’t think I am alone.  Everyone I know wants Christian Louboutin shoes. 

If you remember, I got my Whooga boots.  Last year someone from Whooga contacted me about their boots.  Since I make contact that way on the internet I felt it would only be fair to support their efforts.  So, when I got ready to get boots for the winter snow, I thought I would give them a chance.

The Whooga Website gives the impression that the boots are made in a locally in their factory. Turns out that is not the case.  I was shocked when I saw the mailing label was written in  Kanji.  However, the misleading information is a concern – what else is not going to be true.  

I didn’t pick a traditional styled Ugg boot – the style I picked had a small heel.  The boot I received had something I didn’t expect – stitching  on the top front of the boot  My initial reaction was – cool.  My daughter’s old Uggs don’t have this stitching and are really out of shape.  Unfortunately this stitching is a problem if the boots don’t fit perfectly, because the stitching will keep the boots from giving enough to keep them from hurting your toes.

And I know this because, even though I ordered my true size the boots are uncomfortable.  The boots hurt my feet.  Additionally, the lining under my foot is pilling (making a clump behind the toes), making the boots even more uncomfortable.  And, just in case you don’t know, pilling is a characteristic of ‘MAN-MADE-FIBERS!’  One MORE OBSERVATION  that is also a little strange – the boots are black on the outside, black on the inside with white innersoles.

I wore my Whooga with tights the second time to a brunch function.  During the brunch, I noticed that my tights were inching down every time I stood up (I was seated most of the time).  If you have never had this experience, let me tell you it is very uncomfortable to think your hose are going to slide off while you are walking.  It probably looks strange from behind too.  When I was able to check  I found that the boots were making my tights inch down( another sign of MAN-MADE FIBER) – there was more tight in the boots than on my rear.  When I got home, I left the tights on and walked around for the remain of the evening to see if the US Uggs would do the same thing – eat my tights.  Well, I am happy to report that the US Uggs did not attack my tights. 

Of course at this time even if it wasn’t  too late to return the boots, their return policy doesn’t allow for a refund – so why bother. 

If you remember the other posts about this company, I included a hyperlink back to their site.  Since I can no longer recommend this product, I am not going to include any hyperlinks that would help others get taken by this company.  So far my experience with companies in Australia (as I watch the Australian Open) have been similar to the experiences others have had with their experiences with Nigeria – BAD NEWS.

Joan Rivers appeared on The View to announce her return to the Networks.  The beginning of the interview made it seem like it was only a little social visit to discuss the trauma inflicted on her while trying to come back to the US from a vacation in Costa Rica. 

Joan River’s rendition on the drama at the airport was hilarious.  Then at the end of the interview it was mentioned that Joan Rivers would be going back to television on the Fashion Police Show.  

In case you are unfamiliar with the Fashion Police Show – Joan will be critiquing the fashions on the Red Carpet at award shows and openings.  Which brings me to the critique of the fashions on the Peoples Choice Awards by Cojo. 

As the Entertainment Tonight Fashion Correspondent, Cojo does a Best and Worst Dressed segment for the awards shows.  Since I thoroughly enjoy seeing the fashions at the awards shows, these segments provide another opportunity to see who wore what.  And the Best and Worst dressed segments can be quite amusing.  However, I have to say that when the person who is providing the critic is a fashion disaster, then it seems a little mean.

Cojo really needs a hair makeover – his hair on the segment looked unwashed and his roots were showing.  And to top it off,  it looked like he had on a blouse with a self bow.  In my opinion he was the worst dressed for the evening. And his co-hosts stated at the end of the show ‘I think this time Cojo got it wrong.”  They were referring to his choice for worst dressed.  And I agree – wrong was right – Cojo should have looked in the mirror. 

Welcome back Joan Rivers. Look forward to your comments.  No matter what she says, Joan Rivers and Melissa Rivers will be dressed well.  And, their shoes will be perfect – Joan Rivers and Melissa Rivers use Heel Shields when they drive!  Joan Rivers has taken her heel shields with her on vacation in the past, so I am guessing Joan Rivers probably had her Heel Shields with her in Costa Rica to prevent Driver’s Black Heel Syndrome. 

When I watched The View this morning to see if Elizabeth Hasselbeck received new shoes for Christmas, it was announced that Whoopi Goldberg was to appear on David Letterman this evening.  Since I was going to be up, I thought I would watch show.  Then I saw a commercial and it looked like Whoopi was going to have on the same outfit she had on this morning. 

Is it just me or isn’t the expectation that “entertainers” also entertain us with their wardrobes.  It was my understanding that part of their salaries includes money for wardrobes.  We can just hang out with our friends if we wanted to see ‘clothing reruns!’ 

Doesn’t appear that David Letterman ever wears the same suit – so why do we have to see the women in the same shoes or the same outfit.  Aren’t these ladies supposed to be part of the fashion trendsetters? 

OKAY SO I WAS WRONG – THE COMMERCIALS WERE MISLEADING!  I think this is a cute little posting, so I am going to publish it anyway.  Whoopi CHANGED CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Wish she had worn some Christian Louboutin’s but at least she didn’t wear those house shoe clogs she has a tendency to wear.

Many weeks ago Whoopi Goldberg was in England, spent time with the Queen and bought Five Inch Christian Louboutins.  During my research while  looking for information on the Loubie Men’s Shoe line I came across this shoe which I think is the shoe that Whoopi bought.  This looks like a Whoopi type of shoe – Clunky, almost a boot – I think this is definitely her style – GREAT SHOE!

My Whooga Boots have arrived.  After reading all of the information about sheepskin boots, I wanted to make sure to do things right.  So, of course I got my shoe protector spray (I did buy them especially to wear in the snow) and immediately sprayed my boots as soon as I took them out of the box.  Next, after letting them dry, I sprayed them again.  Don’t want those ugly salt stains that you can’t get rid of on my boots/house shoes (remember they were originally designed as slippers to wear after surfing). Then I sprayed them one more time – hope it works. 

I also ordered the boots in my normal size.  When I put my boots on, I was a little surprised at how tight they fit – really snug.  I knew they were supposed to be snug, just not as snug.  So I decided to wear them around the house to see how long it would take for the boots to stretch out.  Well, it only took a day and the boots stretched out.  So I think my Whooga’s and I are ready for the snow. 

I wanted to get a picture of my boots from the site to post with this writing, however, I couldn’t find a picture of the boot I purchased.  I guess Whooga is no longer selling the boot with the little heel.  Glad I got mine before this happened.  My feet hurt when I wear flats.

To me 2009 was the year for Shoes.  Shoe Designers have taken shoes to a level that I think was unexpected.  Sex and the City may have had something to do with kicking off the shoe craze.   Prior to Sex and the City I was a Stuart Weitzman devotee and satisfied.  Then Manolo Blahnik burst on the scene – AND Jimmy Choo became a household name.  Christian Louboutin has taken it to another level.  Shoes are super fun and super high.  But as The Shoe Gal stated, “height doesn’t matter with a well-made shoe. 

Christian Louboutin opened his first shop in Paris in 1992, and Manolo Blahnik’s first shop has been on the scene since 1972 and Jimmy Choo in 1996, and it seems the shoe frenzy started in the new century.  I know I am Tardy to the Party, but I am there now! 

Love this Christian Louboutin in the HOT color for Fall = this one tooo I especially liked that this shoe also came as a shootie.

Dior had  several shoes that had fabulous gold stiletto heels. 

These are some of my favorite shoes for 2009.  I am gathering the pictures for my favorite boots for 2009.  Each pair of shoes on this page costs over $500 and none of them came with a Heel Shield which I think is a shame. Heel Shields are a good companion for suede and light colored shoes.  Driver’s Black Heel on any of these shoes would be a shame and so easily prevented.
